How to request deletion of data that Dactyl Media holds about you or your business through Dactyl OS, including data obtained from connected accounts such as Meta and Google.
Overview
This page explains how to request deletion of data that Dactyl Media holds about you or your business through Dactyl OS, our marketing intelligence platform. It applies both to data collected directly by Dactyl OS and to data obtained from connected accounts such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google.
You may request deletion at any time, for any reason. You do not need an active account or contract with us to make the request.
What data we may hold
Depending on the services you use, Dactyl OS may store:
- Account information. Name, business name, email address, and login identity.
- Advertising data. Campaign, ad set, ad, and creative records retrieved from connected advertising accounts, along with their performance metrics.
- Page and content data. Posts, captions, and media associated with business pages you have connected.
- Access tokens. Credentials that authorize Dactyl OS to act on connected accounts on your behalf.
- Usage data. Records of how the platform was used, retained for security and troubleshooting.
How to request deletion
Email privacy@dactylmedia.net with the subject line Data Deletion Request.
To help us locate your records, include:
- Your full name and the business name associated with the data.
- The email address used with Dactyl OS, if you know it.
- Any connected account identifiers you want removed, such as a Facebook Page name or an advertising account number.
- Whether you want everything deleted, or only data from a specific connected account.
We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on the request, so that we do not delete data at the direction of someone who is not authorized to do so.
What happens next
- We acknowledge every request within 5 business days.
- We complete verified deletions within 30 days of confirming your identity.
- We revoke and destroy any stored access tokens for the connected accounts named in your request, which ends our ability to reach those accounts.
- We confirm in writing once the deletion is complete, and we tell you plainly if any data was retained and why.
Removing access through Meta
You can also revoke our access directly from Meta, which stops any further data flowing to Dactyl OS immediately. Doing this does not by itself delete data we already hold, so send the email above as well if you want existing records removed.
- Personal Facebook account. Settings and Privacy, then Settings, then Business Integrations, then remove Dactyl OS.
- Business portfolio. Meta Business Suite, then Settings, then Integrations, then Connected Apps, then remove Dactyl OS.
- Partner access. Business Settings, then Partners, select Dactyl Media, then remove the assets you no longer wish to share.
Data we may need to retain
We may keep a limited set of records after a deletion request when the law requires it, including invoices and payment records kept for tax and accounting purposes, and records we must preserve to resolve a dispute or enforce an agreement. Retained records are limited to what is necessary for those purposes and are deleted once the purpose ends.
